Ἐνθυμηθέντι γὰρ ὅτι λέγεται κάλλιον τὸ φανερῶς ἐρᾷν τοῦ λάθρᾳ, καὶ μάλιστα τῶν γενναιοτάτων καὶ ἀρίστων, κἂν αἰσχίους ἄλλων ὦσι, καὶ ὅτι αὖ ἡ παρακέλευσις τῷ ἐρῶντι παρὰ πάντων θαυμαστή, οὐχ ὥς τι αἰσχρὸν ποιοῦντι, καὶ ἑλόντι τε καλὸν δοκεῖ εἶναι [182e] καὶ μὴ ἑλόντι αἰσχρόν,
I'm a bit confused about how καλὸν δοκεῖ εἶναι is linked to the dative of ἑλόντι: is it dativus commodi so that we could translate: it seems to his credit as having captured, that is ἑλόντι καλὸν einai, or is it the dative that goes with δοκεῖ: ἑλόντι δοκεῖ it seems good to him having captured
