I was trying to get in touch with Prof. Diane Johnson to tell her about some typos in her edition of Posselius's Dialogues. Do you agree that these should be corrected?

I decided to change the accents on the ultimate so that it is always acute before a punctuation sign. The only exception is when it is in a list of alternatives. (e.g., p. 90: ἀσπάζου τὸν ὕπατον [ποιμένα, πενθερὸν, κηδεστὴν] παρ' ἐμοῦ.)
Normalized spelling for ῥᾳδίως everywhere.
You can download my corrected and updated version from archive.org (I used pdfedit to modify the original pdf, in case you are interested).

Looks as if you're right about the first 3 at any rate. I don't know about the others. p.100 I suspect neither is right.

Should Νικόλεος be Νικόλεως?

Re: Typos in Posselius
Why, shouldn't it be Νικόλαος in the nominative or maybe vocative Νικόλαε ?

Re: Typos in Posselius
I didn't think about that. It seems though that Posselius (or the printer) really meant Νικόλεος, if I interpret those pesky ligatures correctly.Qimmik wrote:Attic declension?

Correction: another edition has indeed the Attic Νικόλεως

Re: Typos in Posselius
Λ. τὸ αὐτὸ ἴσως συμβέβηκεν ἄν, εἰ λεοντῆν ἐνδεδυμένοι ἂν ἦεν.
It must be a solecism. It seems to be in all the books. Maybe Posselius wanted to introduce some realistic mistake? Or maybe it's a blunder of his secretary?
Shall I correct it like this?

Re: Typos in Posselius
I made a new edition in Unicode with macrons in the Latin and also in the Greek, where and when I noticed the need. Of course, more errors may have crept in. Please let me know, if you spot any.

Re: Typos in Posselius
Not so many as here, one hopes.

In your previous post, wouldn’t the intended sense require not sunebainen but sunebh (“would have happened” rather than “would be happening”)?
But from what I’ve seen of these dialogues, they’re very far from being a suitable model for anything. They’re positively cringeworthy, and they certainly don’t come close to being colloquial Greek or Latin. They're of some historical interest in illustrating how very deficient Greek studies were outside of Italy even towards the end of the 16th century, but I really don’t see the point of putting them out today.
