Re: Webpage Redesign and Login Problems

Hey guy,

I could suggest a solution drawn from Antiquity:
Convince Bill Gates he has been invited to the House of Asterion. After he enters, proceed deep, deep into
its very center. There he will meet someone who will grant him just what he deserves.

FWIW,

Re: Webpage Redesign and Login Problems

Hey guy, As in my original reply, I'm using Windows 10 and MS Edge. Let me try to replicate the problem, There! Did it again. After the comma above I hit enter to go to new line, it does. But once anything is entered it drops another line on it's own. Which it just did again. I can correct in Previe...

FWIW, New site page design looks good! (Of course, I'm already nostalgic for the old one  ). Coming from Windows 10 & MS Edge; Login was recalled no issues, PMs ported over no probs. Site navigation is seemless but this line shows only minor issue I could find. After I put the period at "no pr...

Just curious to ask

Do you think that lack of depth in the grammar of their own language is the main thing that can make Latin & Greek so difficult for some? I ask because I'm just wondering if another answer in the past might have been the **requirement** of courses like Latin and Greek in some schools. This meant stu...

An ancient Greek,...

An ancient Greek walks into his tailor's shop with a pair of torn pants.

"Euripides?" says the tailor.

"Yeah, Eumenides?" replies the man.

A Couple Dictionary Questions

Salve, I am (still) very much a Newbie which will be obvious from my questions. When I retired I gave myself a well-earned treat and bought both the L&S and OUD dictionaries after going through the various threads about such choices that were here about a year ago or so. As for Hylander's "gn-aye-us," I can only imagine that if it's "Nigh-us" in reduction than it would be, "Guh-nae-us" without? But that is a stab i...

The Origin of words like, "CTIMINE"

Hello All! This is really a curiosity question for the group: Why do some Greek words begin with a, "CT" ? I get the C is silent, but was it always so? I'd welcome your opinion or any pointers to articles, etc. about this topic. I think, "Ctesiphon" is the more commonly cited example of this. If you...

Definitely facing page or bottom of the page. What I don't like about End-of-Book commentaries is you inevitably end up with long paragraphs of text that run over onto the next page. So now the question is: "Do I peck back and forth with each sentence being commented upon, or just try to remember it...
