I don't know about the validity of this effort however.

Perispomenon, in general modern Greek sentence structure is just more simplified and analytical than ancient Greek :D Other than that it follows the same structure as ancient Greek is less freely (and the loss of the infinitive and severe restriction of use of the participle hamper us something dre...

Re: Modern Greek: Would it help?

Of course, Modern Greek would be of interest in and of itself, but if anyone could throw any light on how much help it would be in the long, slow process of getting somewhere with Ancient Greek, I would appreciate it! I just recently decided to try to learn modern Greek (after an earlier attempt so...

In the rest of the (what I term "civilized") world, post-secondary education is FREE (ok, not free, there is a fee, which, to the extent of my knowledge, never surpasses $1000 per year). I support the suggestion of a wiki, very hip and hype though it may be :-) I worry a bit about the number of people willing to contribute. That IP address should be 65.99.198.58, not 65.96.198.58. That would explain why your ping attempt didn't work. If you want to use the hostfile workaround, a ping would have to be successful.

Very funny! Can you think of a better description of Greek Tragedy? Shakespearean Tragedy? In fact, Tragedy??? Sure. Have you tried to trace the route to www.textkit.com? When you go to 'start', choose 'run' and type 'cmd'.

In the window that opens, you can type 'tracert www.textkit.com'. That would give you the route your machine takes to get to textkit and where it gets stuck.
