Re: NT greek reading groups?

Awesome, Im planning to get something started in about a month or so.

The only reason I suggest Google Hangouts is it is free to use. Im not sure about Skype, I heard that you had to pay if you wanted to do group video calls. (The Skype web site is not clear. I could be wrong on this one)

NT greek reading groups?

I've been looking around a bit for an NT greek reading group, they are all for the most part quite inconvenient. (Im keen, but not 3:30am-4:30am keen). Is there a group of Australians that might be interested in starting a Google Hangout, it would probably work for anyone closer to the +1100 timezon...

Recently I've heard quite a people recommend avoiding using an interlinear, unless your not planning to master reading greek fluently. The idea is also expressed in a book I recently read: http://www.amazon.com/Keep-Your-Greek-Strategies-People/dp/0310329078 The idea being that having the English to...

Re: Duff's Elements of NT Greek

By the by, I do think that Duff's revision is a travesty. Wenham's was better. An example of Duff's issues: Chapter 4 of his books introduces prepositions, 18 of them with their variant translations according to case. As a teacher and student of language for the past few years, I believe this is a ...

How did we end up writing φιλεω with an ε if its never used?

I've been reading the grammar rules in Duff's "The Elements of New Testament Greek", it's my understanding that words that end in "εω" in the dictionary are never actually written like that anywhere in the greek bible texts. For example, I understand you could find φιλω, φιλεις, φιλει, φιλουμεν, φιλ...
