Re: Translation - English to Latin - please

Cor meum, anima mea, filia mea

anima means "soul," and can also mean "life." So that one word can work for both versions

16-10-2011 16 is XVI 10 is X 2011 is MMXI

P.S. or you can get "anima," meaning soul, and "vita," meaning life

vita would be "vita mea"

Re: Lingua Latina for beginners?

I am thinking about using Lingua Latina and Wheelock together, most probably with Lingua Latina being the basis. Thank you. That's the best way to learn latin. Lingua Latina combined with something else. Though some people would recommend something other than Wheelock. There's a nice book called 'L...

Re: When to stop translating with Orberg's Lingua Latina

I very much disagree that Orberg is overrated. The reason it's touted so highly is because people finish Wheelock or the equivalent only to find that they still can't read Latin, while when they finish Orberg they can. That said it is certainly a mistake to think that Familia Romana alone is going ...

Re: Lingua Latina for beginners?

If I were you I'd do the exact opposite. Do Wheelock to get the grasp of grammar and after that consolidate it with LL. I'll second that! I'm not sure why you think that. I used Lingua Latina first, then other books, and that order worked beautifully for me. To be more exact, I used Lingua Latina u...
