NodeBB has a good anti-spam plugin.

Re: Future of Textkit

You are correct.

I think a moderator is all that's needed in order to manage the new user queue. There's quite a bit of spam that always makes it's way through, something that has always been disappointing about phpBB. I have not looked in awhile to see if there are better alternatives. - Jeff

Hello Textkitters, I got a phone call yesterday which is the nudge I needed to login. So what else do you do?

I saw a thread awhile back asking what else everyone is interested in beyond language. One thing I have been trying to learn is DSLR video and editing. I have a really nice camera (which I can barely keep in focus) and all the Adobe tools for video and audio editing. Here's one of my first projects ...

Yes, they are very busy. But in the case with Textkit they were fair and easy to work with once we explained the situation, it just takes time and energy to coordinate a response and go through the hoops.

Posting Images/Hotlinks - Don't Do It

Hello Textkitters, I must please ask that everyone refrain from posting images in their posts and signatures, including using hotlinks IF the image is not your own. The only thing I can say is to request it from the publisher. I have made a promise to the publishers and to the textbook authors to not distribute the key. Re: Should I Learn Ancient Greek or Latin?

I think beginning with Latin is a good choice - but there is no right or wrong way of going about it. In the United States, students traditionally began with Latin and then moved on to Ancient Greek after about three years of Latin study.
