Any example of modern composition in Ionic?
John Beazley, of Greek vases fame, won the Gaisford prize in the 1930s for "Herodotus at the Zoo." It's in print, or at least on the internet. I can send you a copy if you can't find it.

Re: Homer in the Economist

I'm late to this thread, but I would recommend "The Songs of the Kings" by Barry Unsworth, and "Omeros" by Derek Walcott. Very different, of course, but both wonderful.

Re: Lysistrata Materials

Expecting to read Lysistrata in the very near future, I have on hand Jeffrey Henderson's Clarendon Paperbacks edition originally published 1987. Is there anything more recent than Henderson, as discussed in this Textkit thread https://www.textkit.com/greek-latin-forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=63766&p=17...

Re: Two resources originated from Greece

Just FYI, that's known as the "lunate" sigma, meaning it's shaped like a half-moon. The OCT actually published some texts using it (Diggle's Euripides, for one), but that was also the time when they switched to prefaces in English. And the prices have gone through the roof as the bindings have gone ...

What happened to the Perseus Project?

The site says they were compromised on 4/7. That's three weeks ago. The latest version (hopper) doesn't work at all, and the earlier version croaks about every other page. Any news from there?
