Re: Odyssey Reading Group: Book 6 Lines 1-23

Coming back to v. 21: μιν πρὸς μῦθον ἔειπεν.

Could we think about connecting μιν and πρὸς (ἔειπεν μῦθον πρός μιν)?

Hi there,

On v. 9: ἀμφὶ δὲ τεῖχος ἔλασσε πόλει

Is ἀμφὶ connected to πόλει as a preposition (+D.)? Is it common to have the case far away from the preposition? Or is ἀμφὶ just an adverb?

Error in a verb form in Athenaze (Italian version)?

Hi there, I think there’s an error in a verb form in Athenaze (Italian version), chapter 13, line 127 (page 328): Ἡμεῖς δέ, ὥσπερ… καταλείπειν λόγον, οὐκ ἐφοβηθήσαμεν τὸ πλῆθος τῶν πολεμίων… The form ἐφοβηθήσαμεν belongs to the verb φοβέω, more specifically to the middle for φοβέομαι, to fear. The m...

Hi there, I'm not so sure about the meaning of one sentence I've found in a Patrologia note (Migne Gr., vol. 32, col. 967, n. 65): quod equidem me certo scio non sine ipsius pace dicturum. Thanks a lot for the tip. What do you think about the metrical rendition of this recording? Do you think it's pretty accurate?
Another question: is there a way to get the pdfs or e-books of your lulu's store?

Hi,

Reading a text, I've found an expression that I can't really understand: a ship's timber. Is this a part of a ship? Or is it a material (wood) used to make ships? Could someone explain it to me?
