Re: Poll: renaming the forum "First Greek Book - White"

If we moved all of our Attic Greek questions to an Attic Greek forum, we wouldn't really have a Learning Greek forum anymore. We're all Atticizers here, I guess. So are we saying that "Learning Greek" is for Attic, while Homeric and Koine Greek should be diverted to the appropriate subforums? That'...

Re: Re-Organizing the Forums

One question we might consider is do we need all these subforums? Greek nicely divides into Homeric/Attic/Koine (at least for the people who visit here) but the generic "Learning Greek" is 6 times more active than even the most popular subforum. Plus, where would you go with questions about moving f...

Re-Organizing the Forums

Paul Derouda suggested the possibility of re-organizing the forums, so I thought I'd go ahead and start the topic for all to weigh in. As many of you know, when Textkit was initially started by Jeff, the site's main purpose was the digitization and distribution of public-domain texts related to lear...

Open Library Hundreds (Thousands?) of Greek/Latin Books

Haven't seen anything about this posted here at textkit. I discovered the "open library" which is a part of the internet archive. The difference is that this model allows the "borrowing" of digital editions of texts which are not available as "pre-1923" pdf downloads. That is, you can borrow pdf (an...

Re: Egypt coup or revolution? continuation from Agora thread

In America, the Declaration of Independence merely put into words what the people believed (and still believe): that rights are unalienable and that it is the right of the people to alter or abolish any government that fails to secure these rights of the people. No constitution can supersede that ri...

Easy come easy go? Actually, it looked like it was a test site that just got picked up by google by mistake, since there were large sections that had things like "maybe add something about the editor here," so it's possible that the fully-deployed site is still on its way.

I don't know about the readers you are asking about, but I am wondering why you are dismissing the DX so quickly. I have the Kindle DX and use it to read pdf files all the time. Most of the ones I read are actually 8.5 x 11 scans (or original pdf documents), so they get reduced in size some but are ...

I can shrink the width of my window in Chrome enough to make the tab overlap the way everyone else is reporting. I guess there is a set width for the central column of text; if your window width is greater than that, you get empty left and right columns (empty, that is, except for the support tab), ...
