Ludus cantionum

Ludum incipere volo: Scribite titulum sive versum ex aliqua cantione hodierna in lingua latina, et sinite sodales quam cantionem suspicare.

Quis colludere mecum? :D

Re: Conventiculum Europense

Now that's an impeccable link! :-) So many thanks! Wish there would be more in Northern Europe....

As for the adjective, I read L&S one can use europaeus and europensis similarly...

Conventiculum Europense

Does any one know about Latin and/or Greek Bidua or Tridua in Europe as e.g. Conventiculum Lexingtoniense in America?
I am not thinking about a course, but a conventiculum to speak and meet other latin speakers….

Give me anything you’ve heard or already know…..

utrum (for example) (or num, depending on desired shade), not si.
Following this the sentence would be:

....tractandae sunt, ut exploremus num dubium sit equum fame mortuum esse?

(~are to be discussed, in order to find out, whether the horse died from hunger) ?

Re: Five fresh Latin sentences....... but are they right?

The Clementina will suffice as a substitution for the LA :-)

How about this sentence:

“These questions will be discussed, in order to find out whether there is doubt about….” =

“Hae interrogationes tractandae sunt, ut dubium exploret, quin….”

Or should it rather be…. “ut dubium sit, quin…..”

Five fresh Latin sentences....... but are they right?

Salvi sitis amici! I am venturing some babysteps in writing in Latin (oratio soluta) Can one of you Quintillians and Lactantius’s please comment on these efforts on sentences: 1) In orbe latine loquentium = in the latin speaking world (?) 2) Grex hominum quidam satis magnus versatus est = there exis...

Study group for LLPSI FR Exercitia

Salvete amici! I am planning to redo the exercises of Familia Romana from ch 20-34 to brush up on basic grammar. Could some of you ‘sodales’ be keen on forming a small group and ‘check’ the exercises together? Preferable we could (aim at) talking Latin while going trough the exercises. We could conv...

I see.....a well-known problem - but I think that Ørberg foresaw this when he made the audiofiles - I have at least listened to a load of them walking with babies :-)

Re: Ørberg’s Lingua Latina series

Hi Jeidsath! How far are you in 'Familia Romana'? I have read it through, but I would like to do some 'back to basics' and make some of the exercises of the last chapters. If you haven't finished them yet, how about 'hooking up' in e..g Hangouts and make a couple of exercise-dates? Sorry for being s...

Re: Vocabula novissima de rebus praesentibus

:D Hoc “filum” est spatium ludendi, et sane, verbiis ludere non foeda, sed iucunda et pulchra est De casu “Bluetooth”. Haec verba anglica a rege Danico “Harald Bluetooth” oritur, nomen eius fuit in latine “Haraldus Blatan”, Blatan significat “dens caerulus” (etiamsi rectitudo huius nominis est cum l...

Audiofiles for "Roma Aeterna"

Salvete omnes! Does anyone know of the existence of an (free) audiofile track for “Roma Aeterna - LLPSI pars 2” ? It doesn’t matter if the pronunciation is not a revived Quintilian (or Hans Ørberg), I can live with any accent and any mispronunciation - I would just really like some audiofiles. Other...

Vocabula novissima de rebus praesentibus

Locus in quo vocabula novissima effici possunt, ut latine de rebus praesentibus (futuribus etiam) loqueremur:

Adjice tantum consilia variata ut quomodo ’twitter’, ‘facebook’, ‘bluetooth’ dicenda sunt, sed etiam alia verba ut ‘Christmas tree’, ‘baby-food’, ‘hot dog’, ‘electric car’.
