Compound verb?
Hello all,<br /> I've little question that I can't find the answer to, is a)gapw a compound verb a)po+ a)gw or a full verb in its own right?<br />Or put more simply where does the epsilon augment fir in?<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Paul

Simple contract verb, [size=150]ἀγαπάω.<br /><br />Aorist would be [size=150]ἠγάπησα. So this uses the so-called "temporal" augment, not the epsilon.

I couldn't find that fact anywhere.<br />I had considered all the permutations, none that I could prove from the given texts, I may well have missed something though )<br /><br />Paul McK
