This is a transcription practice.
The image is http://www.nb.no/baser/schoyen/4/4.4/ms1571_1.jpg
(I do this for my practice of greek calligraphy, to identify the letters from those medieval manuscripts and follow the style. :))

First eight lines from the right column,

Aye, this had to go to the Koine Board, since it seems to be a part of NT text. Probably the prolog of Paul's Letter to Timothy.

Another one from http://www.nb.no/baser/schoyen/4/4.3/ms2455.jpg
The first few lines from the right page(marked 70 near the bottom):
σι.

Beauty of the original manuscripts

Post by Dean »

Aren't the manuscripts beautiful?
I have only seen a few.
Vergil and Lucretius. :D

By the way did you know that with enough experience you can tell to what century a manuscript belongs? And there are a lot of other things that can be told just by the style of writing.

This is another part of learning called paleography.

Yes, definitely! That's why I strive to learn them. :D

Skipping over the various sites about paleography, I glanced upon a statement that says you can't clearly tell which period the manuscript was written just by its style, that the size of the letters also varied to enhance the readibility.
But yes, with all the information and your experience you could tell its age very closely.
