Pharr section 209 line 4
)αχαιοὶ δ’ ὄσσονται μάντιν κακά. κακά is neuter pl. μάντιν is msculine sg. Does that mean that κακά functions as an adverb so that it means something like - but the Achaeans evilly glared at the seer-?

Yep. κακά will be used that way on line 105, and I just noticed that Pharr has notes on that line about this.

And I should congratulate you on your progress, Bert.
I remember Pharr chapter 33 very well. I still get a bit queasy when I see that barrage of particles in Iliad line 101. I remember that line well.

Yes, I see that too now. I was still doing the translation exercises and didn't get around to the lines of the Iliad yet. I should have taken a sneak preview.annis wrote:Yep. κακά will be used that way on line 105, and I just noticed that Pharr has notes on that line about this.
