English to Latin exercises

Post by pmda »

One thing I think may be 'missing' from the Orberg approach is the business of translating English to Latin. Could such work exercise those parts of the learning mind that the direct method doesn't necessarily reach. Does anyone know any exercises / textbook that contains / comprises English to Latin exercises AND that have an answer key? regards..Paul

What I do is I simply take the Latin sentences from Lingua Latina (or whatever text I'm using) and make English -> Latin flash cards out of them using Anki. (In fact, I often create both an English -> Latin and Latin -> English card for the same sentence.)

Thanks furrykef. Actually I did that with some sentences in LL. So this may be a good solution. Thanks.
