πρὸς ταῦτα,” φαίην ἄν, “ὦ ἄνδρες Ἀθηναῖοι, ἢ πείθεσθε Ἀνύτῳ ἢ μή, καὶ ἢ ἀφίετέ με ἢ μή,
ὡς ἐμοῦ οὐκ ἂν ποιήσαντος ἄλλα, οὐδ᾽ εἰ μέλλω πολλάκις τεθνάναι.”

Why is this in gen. abs.? Also, is it just causal ὡς, since, or some implied ἴσθι, know that?

I found in Smyth 2073b a similar example from Thucydides 5.56 where ὡς is followed by gen. abs,
and the subject is identical with the object of the leading verb. The meaning is "in the belief, expecting that..."
