Quid sit vs Quid est?

Postby Quis ut Deus » Sun Jun 13, 2010 8:23 pm

I was on the Grex site and one of the li

" Quid sit Grex noster perhumaniter ac dilucide a sodale Victorio Ciarrocchi Pisaurensi explicatur."

Why didn't they write "Quid est?"

Because it's an indirect/reported question on account of "is explained".
Quià est quaestio obliqua prae "explicatur" verbo principale.
I'm writing in Latin hoping for correction, and not because I'm confident in how I express myself. Latinè scribo ut ab omnibus corrigar, non quod confidenter me exprimam.
