I did a bad thing!

Post by pster »

After spending 18 months doing Greek averaging more than 2 hours a day, I dropped it like a stone for four months. What is done is done. But I did learn something. If you find yourself in a similar situation, the best thing to do is to pick up exactly where you left off. I think any other recovery plan is less efficient. I tried 5 different things and they all felt alienating. When I just jumped back to where I was reading Plato, everything was fun again.

I dropped my Greek for 17 years. It was only reading that got it back. When I started again, I could not remember what a genitive absolute construction was or many other construcions. -- but the modern-day online tools give a learning-curve advantage, but only if you Read Read Read.
