"septimana vergente"

Post by Quis ut Deus »

Salvete!

I've encountered this phrase (for the second time) "septimana vergente."

WORDS says "vergo, vergere" -- to incline, slope, lie

"septimanus" means--of the seventh

It looks to be in the ablative with "vergente" as a present participle.

So, does it mean "with the seventh sloping?"

I don't get this one. :?: :?:

"septimanâ vergente" = "at the end of the week" / "at the week-end" / "the week declining"

I'm writing in Latin hoping for correction, and not because I'm confident in how I express myself. Latinè scribo ut ab omnibus corrigar, non quod confidenter me exprimam.
