I'd use "fines" instead of "eventus." Also, you have some options with "beginnings." You could also do "principia" or possibly "coepetûs," though I'm not sure these are necessarily preferable.

Also, a recondite matter, there is something called the "gnomic perfect" which is when you use the perfect tense for "general truths, repeated actions, and customs." In that case you would have "tulerunt" instead of "ferunt." However, Allen and Greenough says this is "sometimes used," so it is by no means a requirement.
