Question concerning translation.

Postby peripatein » Fri Mar 13, 2009 7:55 pm

Dear members,

Would the following be a faithful literal translation of anax ton elaiophoron ochthon echo^n: a king in possession of the olive-bearing hill?

With hope of receiving any means of reply,

Peripatein.

In English "in possession of" sounds a bit legalistic, but the sense is correct.
