Re: Check exercsies
Everything looks good to me but these two. Remember that when you change a sentence to the passive, you need to change the 'person' of the verb to fit the new subject (which was previously the object in an active sentence). This involves changing not just the voice of the verb (laudant->laudantur), but also the person and number (laudo->laudatur).Boban wrote: 2) Carmina poetarum non tantum legimus set etiam ediscimus.
Carmina poetarum a nobis non tantum legimur set setiam ediscimur.
3) Memoriam nostri servatis.
Memoria nostri a vobis servamini.
So "Carmina poetarum non tantum legimus sed etiam ediscimus" in the passive becomes "Carmina poetarum a nobis non tantum leguntur sed etiam ediscuntur." In the active sentence "nos" is the subject, but in the passive the 'carmina' become the subject, so the verb must take the third person plural.
Similarly, "Memoriam nostri servatis" should become "Memoria nostri a vobis servatur." The memory is the new subject, so the verb is third person singular.

I believe that this is "fear of us" and that "our fear" would be timor noster, i.e.Boban wrote: 1) timor nostri
our fear
timemus -> timor noster
nos timent -> timor nostri
Same as above, "love of you" -- "your love" would be amor vester.3) amor vestri
yours love

I think this is an exercise on the pronouns, rather. Othewise why bother with the "a me"?Boban wrote: 3) a me invenitur

2.p. (vos) a me invenimini
3.p. (ii, eae, ea) a me inveniuntur
[
a me invenitur
a te invenitur
etc.
Right?
Corrections are welcome (especially for projects).

Ah, it was in a hurry written, I just wasn't concentrated.thesaurus wrote:Everything looks good to me but these two. You will see that in first sentence I put right verb form, but in second and third I was just lost concentration in hurry.

I wasn't sure really, because I have just learned personal pronouns so I don't know.modus.irrealis wrote:I believe that this is "fear of us" and that "our fear" would be timor noster, i.e.Boban wrote: 1) timor nostri

Just so I can confirm my "I believe", here's a grammar that mentions the amor vestri vs. amor vester.Boban wrote:I wasn't sure really, because I have just learned personal pronouns so I don't know.
