Hi.
I am translating philosophical texts from Latin to Japanese every day, other than the reading trainings using other materials.
And there is a problem.
The Latin writers (or philosophers?) have a very bad way.of writing.
The texts are full of demontratives and the orignal nouns don't appear very often.
So if you resume reading from the place you stopped yesterday, you will find yourself totally lost about what the demonstratives are referring to.
If you read more than two texts simultaneously, this difficulty increases all the more.
For this reason, I am limited to translate only two texts a day.
But I want to read more texts.
Is there any advice?

That's amazing, Junya. I can't give advice. Can you advise me how to read such difficult material so quickly?Junya wrote:I am limited to translate only two texts a day.
Mirificum est, Junya. Te monere non possum. Potesne me monstrare quomodò tales difficiles scripturas tam citò legere queam?

Hi Adrianus, how are you?
I wrote.
The texts are long, and I can't even read through them so quickly.
It needs days for me to read through one chapter.
I am a slow reader even in Japanese.
Quick reading gives me a headache (an actual headache).

Things are good, Junya, thanks.
Benè est, Junya, gratias.

Me, too. And I remember you get headaches from excessive reading. If I would advise you, it would be to let your health determine your workload. What's more important than your health?Junya wrote:It needs days for me to read through one chapter.

I think your effort is the more praiseworthy because it involves three-way translation,—of Latin, English and Japanese,—and that's on top of very specialist and difficult subject matter.
Plùs laudanda tua opera est, quae triplicem traductionem complectitur,— et latinè, et anglicè, et japonicè,—ut mittam quòd tà m difficiles arcanaeque sunt scripturae quas vertes.
