"capitulest" is an error of some sort. I don't really understand what sort of question this is supposed to be, but I'd wager it is supposed to read something like "numerus capituli est magnus', 'the number of the chapter is large.'

Hi,

As you can see, the sentence, which is fill-in-the-blank, has no blank to fill. It's a mistake. It ought to have been written, "Numerus capitul___ est magnus," and, with "capitulorum," means "The number of chapters is large."
