in the3 front of my gnt, there is a place where it says" when [ ] are used, the po4rtion of scr4ipture is disputedby the editors" matt 6:13 ends with "for thine is the power , and the kingdom forever, amen." why was this added and where did it come from?

It was probably added by a copyist that used to hear this doxology in the celebration of the Eucharist just after the Our Father. Today you can still find it in the same place in the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, where it is said by the priest after the people have recited the Our Father:
?τι σοῦ ?στιν ἡ βασιλεία καὶ ἡ δ?ναμις καὶ ἡ δόξα, τοῦ Πατ?ὸς καὶ τοῦ Υἱοῦ καὶ τοῦ Ἁγίου Πνε?ματος, νῦν καὶ ἀεὶ καὶ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων.
As you can see, later a reference to the Trinity was also added.
