The desire for safety stands against every great and noble

Post by Lucus Eques »

"The desire for safety stands against every great and noble enterprise."
- Tacitus

Can anyone confirm for me in which text this is written? I cursory search online does not reveal the source.

It seems it's just a quote attributed to Tacitus. If not, my search proved fruitless as well. :)

Lisa: Relax?! I can't relax! Nor can I yield, relent, or... Only two synonyms? Oh my God! I'm losing my perspicacity! Aaaaa!

Homer: Well it's always in the last place you look.

Quod requisivisti, Luce care, ego quoque sine eventu conquisivi. Ecce autem quod inveni in situ quodam ( http://www.quotecosmos.com/quotes/35406/view ):
"Security: The desire for safety stands against every great and noble enterprise, Tacitus, Publius Cornelius" ,
quod hunc nexum continet:
"Safety Stands, Price $84.00. In stock" !!! Utrum pretium bonum sit necné, me rogo.
