help to choose text for my diplom work

Post by xoffox »

avete, :)
For my diplom work i have to choose latin text or a peace of text, wich can be written no latter than 3-4 A.C. The auctor can be everybody, and the theme of his scripture can be everything,it doesn`t matter prose or poem, but it has to be at about 25-30 pages. I have to translate his text in my language . I`m interested in theme like - love or smth. connected with the Venus or her feasts. But I have the condition that text I will choose not to be translatted in my language before me. So the most imporant auctors have yet translated - for exemple I know that the poems of Catulus and the Ovidius "Ars amatoria" are translated. So I ask everybody who knows texts aliked these or similar to write me the auctor`s name and the title of the text. I will be very grateful to you, I hope that you understend my idia for that witch can be interesting for me. If somebody has other advice to me can write to me too.
Thank you

There is actually plenty of untranslated medieval work, but in that time frame? I don't know, I think it depends on how much Bulgarian has translated itself.

I can not help. I hope others can, though. :)

Good luck!

Avete,
Thank you,Mugle M and vir literarum for help, but
Unfortunately the text " Cupid & Psyhe " is translated, I searched for another text.... and found " Remedy for love" but it is also translated :( So I will reseearch again, I wanted to know if there are latin text which describe the roman rites and religion also not latter than 3 A.C. I found these site http://www.thelatinlibrary.com/ and had looked almost every text there. I hope that in these site are not collected all latin texts to 3 A.C. So please if somebody knows other net adress with more latin texts to write it to me.

I think that the main page of The Latin Library lists only the "feature authors". This is their complete listing:
