olde othello

Post by zagreus »

anyone know of any strange/weyarde/olde translations of othello by shakespeare?
looking for a moment in time - IV.2 - where othello's english language breaks down into his primeval language when talking to desdemona.

Thanks in advance.

Basically any translation in a language that wouldn't be recognised, or a language that doesn't bare any resemblance to a language one might think they knew.

Assuming you're looking for foreign language translations of Othello, here are some interesting translations I've found in an online Shakespeare Bibliography: Kannada, Arabic (multiple versions), Russian, Hebrew, Polish, Chinese, and--my personal favorite--Croatian.
