GNT in MP3 format available on net

Post by Kyneto Valesio »

Hey all

There are files of the GNT read by Marilyn Phemster available at this site (supposedly):

http://www.ccel.org/a/anonymous/gnt/home.html

When I try to access the files, I receive the following message

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /a/anonymous/gnt/mp3/01Matt14.mp3 on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Does anyone know of other archives of audiofiles broken down by chapter?

Thanks

I get the same error, so I guess they've been taken down. The only other audio files I know of are at http://www.greeklatinaudio.com, which uses a modern Greek pronunciation.

And to answer your question about the modern Greek pronunciation (which is the one used in Orthodox churches) in the other thread, no, the pronunciation is very different from the one Mounce describes. You can see a comparison at http://www.biblicalgreek.org/links/pronunciation.php. The table there simplifies some things and has some mistakes, but the only really glaring error about the modern pronunciation is that rho is not like a French r, but like a Spanish r.

guys,

When I visit the site, I AM ABLE to download the file in MP3 format and then use whatever player I wish to play the file. When I click on the chapter I get a pop up that asks me to save the file, I click "save" and the viola. I could not get it to play directly from the site without saving the file to my computer. I'm not sure if that helps.
