This board is a composition workshop, like a writers' workshop: post your work with questions about style or vocabulary, comment on other people's work, post composition challenges on some topic or form, or just dazzle us with your inventive use of galliambics.

I recently translated "Michelle" on my blog. Hope you all enjoy.

“Michelle?, written by Paul McCartney, on Rubber Soul, now is translated into Latin for your aural pleasures. I left the French, save the tagline, intact. Also, you should be able to sing along with the original, unlike many other “translations? of popular music. Enjoy!

Missella, ma bella,
simul bene videntur verba
Ma Missella

Missella, ma bella
Sont des mots qui vont tres bien ensemble
tres bien ensemble

Te amo, te amo, te amo
omnia me loqui velle
dum inveniam viam
Modo verba dicam quae scio te videre

Missella, ma bella,
Sont des mots qui vont tres bien ensemble
tres bien ensemble

Necesse, necesse, necesse
decet videre tibi
o tu es quod mihi
interea maneo spero te videre…

Te amo!

Te volo, te volo, te volo
Puto iam te scire
aliqua capire
interea te dico sic tibi videre

Missella, ma bella,
Sont des mots qui vont tres bien ensemble
tres bien ensemble

Modo verba dicam quas scio te videre
Ma Missella

Yes, yes, I know that “ma? is not real Latin. There are liberties with every poem, and this is one I’m taking.

dum invenio viam

Shouldn't it be: dum inveniam viam?

Modo verba dicam quas scio te videre

Does the relative clause suppose to relate back to "verba"?
If so, then it has to be quae(neut. acc. pl.), rather than quas, becuase verba is the neuter plural of verbum.

Yes, I have a number of errors, it seems. Although I had "quae" for that phrase originally in line 10, I must have let it slip there. It should read "quae" not quas.

Also, little known to any of you, but I had originally "illa verba videntur bona" for line 2, but changed it to its current form. I'd like to change it back to "illa verba videntur bona" which seems overall a better phrase.
