Exercise 162

Postby runicus » Mon Aug 21, 2006 3:59 am

Greetings!O friends mine!
This is the first time that I have ever typed in Ancient Greek with the expectation that ye can help me with the translation. I have done just partial work thereof, and with the rest I am very confused.

"Klearchos said that above; the soldiers,both...and the others, were commanding him to lead the army."

I comprehend not what αá½￾τοῦ á¼￾κείνου hereby meaneth, albeit I can recogize it as genitive singular.
Thanks in advance.
Postscriptum: Excuse me for my assuming archaist^^

αá½￾τοῦ á¼￾κείνου, in this context, almost certainly means Klearchos. I'd double-check my PDF of White, but I can't find the file offhand, and I'm not going to abuse Jeff's poor server by re-downloading it.
