Re:Optate!
The question is What is the worst fate?. So far everyone has voted Baked in Episcopus' cake. What does that tell us?

If someone would translate it for me, I'll vote gladly. I'm just one of those strange people who doesn't like to vote for what they know not...and yes, I've looked at it, probably half a dozen times. I just don't understand it. What are my options, please?

Keesa

I never knew myself to be so popular :-*

Actually the last cake that I baked was done in school (the height of my learning experience in there, unfourtunately); 'twas chocolate and rather delicious.

Also to be baked inside it would have been rendered pleasurable to one's skin for the hottest temperature at which it was cooked was comfortably warm.

Bah, it still makes sense, but who falls away from a ladder?

Re:Optate!
Latin doesn't distinguish from "in" or "on" so ex can mean "out of" or "away from" although you have to be careful since the connotation is very different from that of "ab."

Re:Optate!

I'm not sure w hat to make of this one. I guess you're basically saying "being buried alive". But to be buried in several "baskets", that seems to imply that the evil men cut you to pieces first!
benissimus wrote:
Humari magnis in corbibus malorum sine anima
To be buried in large wicker-baskets of evil men without breath (meant to write multis rather than magnis :-\, interpret how you like I wish I could change my vote to this!)

Ignorance is bliss. ::)

Actually I find it quite interesting. I think one of the worst fates would be some sort of "drowning", but you don't have anything like that. The closest thing would probably be the lung stabbing.

Do not ask me what was going through my head when I decided on those options.
Dilligently and zealously shall I study! Yes! I can study again today! I couldn't yesterday...I had to take an all-day-test, and they didn't even give the questions in Latin! :'( Although...considering my current skill level (as opposed to the skills I shall someday obtain!) that's probably a good thing, n'est-ce pas? I think so, anyway...

Keesa
