Greetings and Salutations
Righto. I'm Max, and I'm introducing myself.
Hi.
I'm a Latin dork trying to build a relationship with Greek. It's rocky, but I think we'll make it. I'm going to be a senior at Oberlin College this coming year, and in a few weeks I'll be a TA for the Latin course at CTY - Los Angeles.
...It probably would have helped to have read some other introductions before I launched into mine. Ah, well.
As regards classics, I tend to see classical influences in many modern works - Fight Club and Sin City, for example. They may not be intended, but that doesn't really matter, now does it?
Feel free to drop me a line, poke me with a comment, or query me about whatever you'd like. I'm bored and have copious free time on my hands.

And once you start studying Latin and Greek you'll wonder where all that free time went! Have some fun while you do have some free time, see some great bands, surf or whatever people do in LA. And then when you are up to your armpits in textbooks at 2 in the morning you can look back on that wonderful "free time". Oh dear.Eureka wrote:I agree with William, the expression on that pig's face is quite suspicious.
The name of the robot in his avatar is "Grr." My outburst is a quote from the surreal cartoon "Invader Zim" and involves a flying pig.

I'd never have thought that a little rubber piggy would inspire such suspicion... But worry not, I have no intentions of pig-lewdness.Eureka wrote:I agree with William, the expression on that pig's face is quite suspicious.
Anyway, welcome, Mteitelp. Just try to keep the pig-lewdness to a minimum.
....
Or do I?

I have taken an unusual (but not unheard of) liberty with hiatus across the caesura of the pentameter. I was in a hurry. So sue me.
