Plutarch

Post by klewlis »

So, I'm trying to translate this bit from Plutarch. The reference says "Plutarch, Dem. 7". But I can't figure out what work this is... I want to find an english translation so I can check my work. Perseus doesn't seem to have it. Does anyone know what this is and where I can find it?

Hi,

From his 'Lives', perhaps Demosthenes?

Cordially,

Paul

Thanks! It is indeed Demosthenes. I have found it--but not on Perseus!

hi klewlis, here are 2 links to plutarch's life of demosthenes:

http://www.bartleby.com/12/7.html

http://classics.mit.edu/Plutarch/demosthe.html

both of these sites are good places to check if perseus doesn't have an english translation of a certain work. :)

yes, Perseus has shamefully little of Plutarch. I don't know if it's because of copyright problems or what.
