Ut aliter antea dixi, carmines Natalis Latine scripsi, versos primos. Hic, Anglice, "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear", aut "O Venit Media Nocte Clara" :

O venit media nocte clara,
Illvd carmen glorioso,
Ab angelos venti prae terra
Sonare lyras avro:
"In terra pax, et hominibvs
Bonae e Rege volvntatis."
In qviete mvndvs posvit,
Avdire cantar' angelis.


Scio hi versi non latinae optimae sunt, sed fortasse agunt; consilia vestra sunt gratissima.

Elisionem in verso sexto utor, ubi '-e' de "Bonae" et "e" sonus idem est.

Proximus "O Benedicat Deus Vos," aut "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen" :

O benedicat Devs vos, terreri nolite;
Vt Christvs natvs hodie est, non dediscite,
Servare nos si erramvs e Satan fortite.

O nvntivs solati gavdiqve, gavdiiqve,
O nvntivs solati gavdiqve.


In verso tertio, verbum "Satan" credo e hebraica est, et forsin formam perfectam in latinam non habeat, cogitabam.

Atque, in versis ultimis, alia 'i' in ultimum de "solati" et "gavdi" non utor, nam ille metri melius agit; sed in "gavdiiqve" agit. Semel cantate et videte.

Et Satanas indeclinabile potest.
Sed et declinabile modo agricolae -- Satanas, Satanae, Satanae ...

(If I recall correctly)
