Brevi stirps quoque virilis

Postby pmda » Thu Sep 26, 2013 6:47 pm

In LLPSI Orberg describes Aenaas and Lavinia's first children...

Brevi stirps quoque virilis ex novo matrimonio fuit, cui 'Ascanium' parentes nomen dederunt.

I'm taking it that 'virilis' is a feminine nominative singular adjective to modify the feminine noun 'stirps'.

Do I have that right. : Soon there was issue and of the male (kind)...

Yes, more or less. stirps quoque virilis fuit -- "Soon there was also male issue from the new marriage"
