Iam inde ab initio Faustulo spes fuerat regiam stirpem apud se educari, nam et iussu regis [=ut rex iussit, rege iubente] infantes expositos esse sciebat et tempus quo ipse eos sustulisset ad id tempus convenire.

Cur 'convenire' infinitivus est? Scio + infin. ?

The fact that it's after the 'et' suggested that it may not be required. Actually both tempus's are acc. Right?
