Dido places Aeneas' effects on the pyre (in LLPSI XL)
'...super rogum exuvias et ensem relictum effigiemque Aeneae in toro locat.'
I take it this referes to the picture of Aeneas sitting on a couch and not a picture of Aeneas placed on a couch which is then placed on the pyre
efficiemque Aeneae in toro locat....

Rogus is the pyre--the pile of kindling wood; torus is a bier or couch placed on top of the pyre for Dido to lie down and die on eventually. "On top of the pyre she places on a couch the clothing and the sword left behind, and an image of Aeneas."
