In LLPSI Cap XXXIX Orbig scribit:
Aeneas salutem sperare ausus est et rebus suis confidere: nam regimam opperiens, dum in ingenti templo singula opera lustrat, vidit imagines belli Troiani ordine pictas.
Quid est 'rebus suis'? Ablativus? Dativus? Aeneas se confisus est?
rebus suis

Re: rebus suis
Aut dativo aut ablativo servit istud verbum, confido.
Either dative or ablative. Confido takes either (though rarely the ablative with a personal object, according to L&S).
"Aeneas sibi confisus est"; rarè "se confisus est" personale cum pronomine, secundum L&S

I'm writing in Latin hoping for correction, and not because I'm confident in how I express myself. Latinè scribo ut ab omnibus corrigar, non quod confidenter me exprimam.
