Does Latin allow for two subjects and two objects to use the same verb?
sic eius adventus celebrabantur, ut famam ingeni exspectatio hominis exspectationem ipsius adventus admiratioque superaret.
exspectatio and admiratio are nominative.
famam and exspectationem are accusative.
adventus is nominative.
superaret is the only verb I can see after the ut which introduces what is obviously a result clause.
The only sense I can make out of this is....
Expectation, the fame of the man's genius
and
arrival-and-admiration of (the man) himself expectation,
overcame (each other)
