In LLPSI: Pars II Orberg scribit:

Prima aestate pater Anchises naves deducere et ventis vela dare iubebat...

Nonne 'Ventis' dativus et 'vela' accusativus sunt? i.e. Anchises iubebat ut vela ad ventis daretur. ?

Ventis quidem accusativus, scribendum autem est:

Anchises iubebat ut vela ventis darentur.

συνγνωμην εχετε, ω φιλοι μου λαλουντος Ελληνιστι. χαιρω δε εν υμιν γραφουσιν Ρωμαιιστι περι της γλωσσης Ρωμαιικης. ευγε!

ολιγοι δε θελουσι γραφειν περι της γλωσσης Ελληνικης Ελληνιστι.

{Forgive me, an interlocutor from the Greek side, but I rejoice that there are some folks who write about Latin in Latin. Very few Ancient Greek learners want to write about Greek in Greek. You guys rock!}
I am writing in Ancient Greek not because I know Greek well, but because I hope that it will improve my fluency in reading. I got the idea for this from Adrianus over on the Latin forum here at Textkit.
