a change from ad to a (in pronunciation)

I saw this sentence in a CD booklet.

Rumolde tam beate Margareta clamat a te
English translation attached to it :
Holy Rumoldus,Margaret cries to you

Is this a a simple misprint of ad ?
I thought so, but it also came to my mind that perhaps by economy of pronunciation ad te might change into a te.
ad te is a little difficult to pronounce, so the actual pronunciation might become a te or atte.
