te addere?

Post by pmda »

In Pensum A of LLPSI, Cap XXXVII Orberg scripsit: 'Anchises urbi captae superesse noluit, sed Aeneas "Si tibi certum est" inquit "Troiae periturae te addere, patet ianua morti."

Anchises did not wish to survive the captured city but Aeneas said: 'If you are sure Troi is about to be destroyed along with you (te addere?) then the door to death opens.

"If you are resolved to add/give/join yourself to..."
I'm writing in Latin hoping for correction, and not because I'm confident in how I express myself. Latinè scribo ut ab omnibus corrigar, non quod confidenter me exprimam.
