I know this may be a bit off from plain Latin but I was wondering is this the correct way to write a date:

MMIV Anno Domine

Or

Anno Domine: MMIV

Thanks

You can use anno Domini or anno .... post/ ante Christum natum.

So I would say: anno bis millesimo quarto post Christum natum.
Or: Anno MMIV post Christum natum.
Or: Anno Domini MMIV.
