how to translate "wondering if it will end"

Is something like "si desiturum esse mirans" ok. I'm not quite sure if mirans has the correct meaning in this context.

"si desiturum esse mirans" is wrong, I would say. Falsum est, ut opinor.

Verò, ego equidem optimum istius loquendi modum ignoro at hoc conjecto:
I, for one, don't really know the best way to say it but maybe this:

"...hoc demirans, si id desiturum sit"
I'm writing in Latin hoping for correction, and not because I'm confident in how I express myself. Latinè scribo ut ab omnibus corrigar, non quod confidenter me exprimam.
