Comics in Latin or Greek?

Post by rustymason »

Does anyone know of any comics in Latin or ancient Greek? I know of Asterix but no others. Gratias.

There are some Tin-Tin Comics online but they are in the "favorites" on my work computer. One of them is De Insula Nigra. I will link to them when I get a chance.

Got em http://www.latinitatis.com/latinitas/nu ... becula.htm

Last spring there was a post about Latin "Asterix Legionarius" and after googling a while I found a document sharing site that had many Asterix pdf's in modern greek. Now I cannot find that site. I didn't know if it was in public domain or not, so I kept it to myself. Not sharing, I lost the link. :(

Genius! Thanks a million.

This would be perfect for a Krashen style language classroom.

I wonder if we could find a bunch of out-of-copyright comics that we could translate? (Once again for me: big ideas, no time!)

I guess the first thing to be done would be to start a new thread to see if anyone would want to be involved (or cares).
Then to transcribe the English for easy access.

Did anything come of this? I would love to buy an Ancient Greek comic book for a dear friend for Christmas. An episode of the wonderfully drawn French comic book Alix was published in Ancient Greek once, but it was discontinued and only exists in resale markets at prohibitive prices.
