Greeting Textkit Community,

I am an English teacher studying Latin independently. I made it through Wheelock, and I'm up to the 8th Loci Immutati in the back of the book. Sometimes I'll translate a few of Phaedrus' fables for a change. My goal is to gain enough fluency to be able to actually read some real Latin, not just translate it, if you know what I mean. One challenge will be to read Latin poetry correctly. If I'm right, it seems to almost have an extra dimension compared with English poetry. I 'm beginning to lose motivation, without Wheelock's lessons, I'm almost at a loss as to how best to spend my time studying. Just keep translating and drilling vocab/grammar until it becomes second nature? Hopefully this website will help me keep my motivation enough to accomplish my goals.

Best,

Daniel
