Yes, Happy New Year! (I won't be online again before New Year either)
How are you all celebrating the New Year?
I'm going to a friends birthday party for New Year, and then on to Speyer's main street (which I'm not looking that forward to, as Speyer's main street is a very dangrous place to be, most people end up in hospital after celebrating there...)

I'll be home. We don't do much for New Years.

Happy New Years, though!

I don't have to work so I'll go and watch the fireworks and have a few glasses of champagne! It's been hot here so it will be good to be outside in the cooler night air.

The libraries reopen on the 2nd (and I still have a 20 page paper to churn out on Tacitus), so till then it's time to drink.

Cheers.

I'm headed into Toronto to watch the not so exciting festivities there and then head to the best "English style" pub to watch live Celtic bands. Should be good.

Happy New Years everyone!

Argh... spent New Year fearing for my life :( , no it's not funny! It's very dangerous in Speyer, but my friend wanted to celebrate New Year on the main street so I went along, even though I'd sworn to myself never to spend New Year there again after having been there some years ago.
It wasn't as bad as last time, because nearly no one had turned up - people had taken the police advice and stayed clear of the main street.
But luckily I wasn't hurt, only one guy of our party suffered some burns.
The party was good though :D

I just want to know how our neighbors knew when our bedtime was. Fireworks and car horns and metal on metal from nine o'clock to twelve is enough to drive anyone crazy. They didn't start until I was reaching for the light switch, though...it's as though they were just waiting until they could disturb my sleep!

Our old neighbors were quieter. :?

How can you not celebrate the New Year :?: :!: :?: :!:

You should have got up and joined them, not like you could sleep so you may as well have partied and welcomed in the New Year.

I guess I'm just not good with people or parties.

I've given up parties but even I stayed up until 5 am...and alcohol usually does the trick if you never feel like partying

Not really because you just feel really bad afterwards
Perhaps yelling at noisy neighbours could be fun.

Oh, it is. :D (Just kidding, of course.)

The nice thing about these neighbors is that they are only noisy on holidays. The people they bought from were noisy _all_ the time.
