Poetic Edda CD

Postby mingshey » Fri Dec 26, 2003 6:31 am

Sounds llike close to what I was looking for: A Poetic Edda audio book,

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... 17-8034424
(edited to tag textkit :))

It seems to contain three songs from Edda and a later composition, tho' I'm not very sure. Anyway it's in my prolonged shopping list. :P

P.S.

Ah! Here's the longer, 2-CD version:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASI ... 50-8318234
(Is there a way to tag textkit to this UK site?)

That looks interesting.

Also a symphonic work is being composed by a modern composer named Wendt. See http://www.eddan.net .

In the reviews, someone said it was "A re-creation of the way the Voluspa and Havamal were probably sung almost 1000 year ago." I hope it is reconstructed pronunciation and not Modern Icelandic. When you do get a copy, please tell me what you think of it.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

".de", ".ca", ".uk", etc, all have something to do with the country, don't they?

Oh, thank you. I figure that if I ask enough dumb questions, one day I'll understand all the intricacies of normal life.
