Modern sports terms in Latin?

Postby galen697 » Tue May 19, 2009 3:05 am

Is there any reference for modern sports terms in Latin? I have a student who's attempting to translate a baseball game recap article into Latin and we're a bit stumped on words for things like "innings", "home run", etc

Salve galen697
Vise hunc situm
Vide non minùs Traupman, Conversational Latin, Ch. 5: "Sports and Other Leisure Activities"
C. Helfer, Lexicon Auxiliare (1991) (ein deutsch-lateinisches Wörterbuch)
I'm writing in Latin hoping for correction, and not because I'm confident in how I express myself. Latinè scribo ut ab omnibus corrigar, non quod confidenter me exprimam.
